Hi! My name is Amelia. I'm a bright and bubbly entrepreneur that loves to eat and travel. I wear a smile on my face 95% of the time so if you've met me you might not think that I've suffered from depression and anxiety in the past. That's the thing with mental health, it's often hidden. You can see a cut or a broken a bone but you can't see a mental illness.

Everyone is fighting a battle that you know nothing about. I know many people who are affected by mental illness and I know many who are too afraid to admit it or to seek the help they need. They're afraid of being judged or people thinking less of them. But I want to prove that you can still be successful if you've suffered from a mental illness and that you shouldn't be afraid to seek help.

Taking control of your life and looking after your mental health is courageous and it takes strength but it is possible.

I’ve been selected as an official cast member of the socially conscious (and award-winning) TV series Adventure All Stars. Produced by the acclaimed Charity TV Global, this ground-breaking media format provides a platform for me to raise funds and exposure for a philanthropic cause I’m passionate about. Pre-filming I’m proud to be raising awareness and funds for headspace, an Australian non-profit organisation for youth mental health.

Did you know that more than 75 per cent of mental health issues develop before a person turns 25? Many traditional services aren’t equipped to address the unique barriers that young people face to accessing mental health support. headspace began in 2006 to address this critical gap, by providing tailored and holistic mental health support to 12 - 25 year olds. With a focus on early intervention, they work with young people to provide support at a crucial time in their lives – to help get them back on track and strengthen their ability to manage their mental health in the future.

By supporting me in this journey, you're supporting headspace and helping our youth to look after their mental health from a young age, equipping them with the tools and skills they need to live a happy and healthy life.

Please donate so headspace can continue to help the youth of today live a better life, creating a better future for all.

Why am I fundraising and how can you help me?

Mental illness is a silent killer.  The symptoms and signs are not always visible or easy to recognise and in fact, individuals struggling with mental health conditions may be the people you would least expect. More than 75 per cent of mental health issues develop before a person turns 25 and suicide remains the leading cause of death for Australians aged between 15 and 44. Approximately 1 in 5 Australians are suffering from mental illness in any given year. This has to change! You can help bring these struggles out of the dark and join me in tearing down the stigma and discrimination surrounding one of our leading health issues.  By donating to my fundraising campaign you’re helping me to highlight the importance of empowering one another to feel safe and supported in asking for help.

Funds raised throughout this project will be granted to headspace
