Ann Peshkoff hasn't added a story.
Hi everyone,
My name is Ann. a mum to four amazing young adults. I volunteer regularly within the local communities and enjoy helping others.
This year I have been given the opportunity along with CharityTVGlobal to bring awareness and to raise funds for Headspace, an Australian not for profit organisation for youth mental health.
With four young adults still living at home, I am frequently reminded of the pressures they face in everyday life e.g the expectation to do well and to have a good job.
Nowadays many young people struggle daily with mental health issues and are embarrassed to seek help either from their family, friends or specific organisations. Many suffer in silence. There is still the stigma out there with seeking help for fear of being judged or treated differently. This needs to stop.
With the current COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing, this would affect most people out there. During uncertainty it’s easy to lean into fear and be unkind to others. Now more than ever, we need to reach out, be kind to each other and seek help when needed.
It is ok to not be okay.
Please get behind me in supporting Headspace. “Together we are
stronger.
Together we can make a difference.”
Any donation you can make will help Headspace towards their
bushfire mental health programs and also resources into making their
counselling sessions more accessible to people within the community.
Whether it is $2 or $100, any donation would be greatly appreciated.
All donations $2 and over are Tax Deductible.
Proceeds go to Headspace - via CharityTVGlobal. Please click the link above to donate now:
If you aren't in a position to donate, just clicking "share" or ‘tag’ on my campaign will be much appreciated. The more people this reaches, the more support and awareness will be brought to this cause.
Thank you for reading and for being on my campaign page.
I’m excited to announce I’ve been selected as an official cast member of the socially conscious (and award-winning) TV series Adventure All Stars. Produced by the acclaimed Charity TV Global, this ground-breaking media format provides a platform for me to raise funds and exposure for a philanthropic cause I’m passionate about. Pre-filming I’m proud to be raising awareness for a condition affecting millions in our Australian community alone.
Why am I fundraising and how can you help me?
Mental illness is a silent killer. The symptoms and signs are not always visible or easy to recognise and in fact, individuals struggling with mental health conditions may be the people you would least expect. More than 75 per cent of mental health issues develop before a person turns 25 and suicide remains the leading cause of death for Australians aged between 15 and 44. Approximately 1 in 5 Australians are suffering from mental illness in any given year. This has to change! You can help bring these struggles out of the dark and join me in tearing down the stigma and discrimination surrounding one of our leading health issues. By donating to my fundraising campaign you’re helping me to highlight the importance of empowering one another to feel safe and supported in asking for help.
Net proceeds raised throughout this project will be granted to headspace https://headspace.org.au/
